Solder Joints Goo Practice
Your lead came may not touch each other at the joints. This is easily overcome with the joints are at 90° angles, however, when the angles are sharper, a bit more skill is required. You may need to solder in two, or even three passes. Allow the solder to cool between each application.

The distance that the solder extends at the joints should be uniform, both for aesthetic and structural reasons.
