ART OF STAINED GLASS
INTERMEDIATE LEAD CAME I

For The Love of Scotland
This tutorial assumes the following abilities:
  • making a jig
  • making a Mitered Zinc Frame
  • cutting glass with care and precision
  • minimal familiarity with the lead came process (follow the Easy Lead Came Tutorial) including cutting came, soldering joints, puttying, and finishing.
The emphasis will be on:
  • ordered assembly
  • soldering good joints
The pattern is here: CLICK HERE TO DOWNLOAD PATTERN - for more details, see For The Love of Scotland. This pattern is a whimsical take on Scottish architect and designer Charles Rennie Mackintosh.

We begin with the mitered zinc frame and the jig set up with a carpenter's square. The assembly steps require few explanations, this is mostly a pictorial guide - followed by diagrammatic details of joint soldering.
