ART OF STAINED GLASS
ART GALLERIES

Art Galleries?
Stained glass is generally thought of as a craft, rather than an art; for this reason it is rarely seen in urban art galleries. However, there are many quaint little village with art galleries that display folk art or tourist fares that aren't quite so tight on their definition of what constitutes art. Selling to art galleries works much in the way as gift shop; you will be expected to supply the customary consignment paperwork. Consider bringing a small array of classical panels, that you change on a regular basis. The possibility of commission might be emphasized, and emphasized with greater chance of success if you promise the shopkeeper a 10-15% finder's fee on any commission that they refer to you - for trust and honesty, let the sale pass through them, that way they will know you are straight with them.

People enter an art gallery with the expectation of higher prices, larger items, and more 'fireworks' than a gift shop. Bring larger, and more elaborate items. Be mindful that shoppers are more conscious, when considering to purchase a large piece for a sizable sum of money, that they are decorating their homes. They may be less inclined to purchase something that memorializes their favorite animal or hobby, and more to match their curtains and the style of the house. Customers will be more willing to invest money on something they expect will age stylishly, and is neutral enough to continue fitting in as they move house or change decor.

It is NOT impossible:
